Jackson Apple Festival Parade Rules & Entry Form
Acceptable & Desired Parade Entries Include:
1. Marching drums
2. Floats
3. Queens
4. Color Guards
5. Drill teams
6. Baton Groups
7. Drum & Bugle Corps
8. Pom Pom Corps
9. Cheerleaders (marching or on floats)
10. Unusual & unique parade items (not seen on the streets every day)
Special Note: Violations of any of the following rules can result in immediate ejection. A. No horses, mules, ponies, oxen, etc., permitted without special insurance and board approval. B. A $125 entry fee per unit. (2nd vehicle = $125, 3+ = $250 total). Payment must accompany entry form. Includes commercial units like wreckers, trucks, buses, etc. C. Parade entries must move forward only. No back steps, pauses, stops, flips, or acrobatics. D. Check-in on Broadway and Broad Streets 1 hour before start. Parade begins at 7:45 PM. E. No distribution of items by anyone walking or riding without board approval. F. No alcoholic beverages in the parade, line-up area, or vehicles. G. All entries must be pre-registered. No walk-ups accepted. H. All floats must carry a 5 lb or larger ABC fire extinguisher accessible to the driver. I. Saturday night parade is by request or invitation only. Entry limits: 12 motorcycles, 12 antique cars, 12 tractors, 12 hillbilly units. Baton groups must compete in Tuesday's show to qualify. J. No live animals allowed in any Apple Festival parade. K. Farm tractors must have enclosed cabs and meet horsepower requirements. Only 4 walkers per float (1 per corner). L. No sirens or air horns. No hood riding. No explicit content in signs or language. M. Festival committee reserves the right to accept or deny any entry.
